I forgot to add that fuel is Quebec is outrageously expensive. Like prohibitively expensive. I like this car though. Only cause I love the green/ brown combo. And it's a pre 77 model.

I wonder how long it will languish in kijiji classifieds?

    hey, hey, hey, what?

Once again, wish I'd already won big at the Lottery. Rush in, snatch it up, save it. Keep this one :yup: Do something about where it looks like somebody keyed it, down the side. Have not often seen a 72. The superbumper generation did really big on sales. These seem to be much rarer.

In Laval today the lowest gas price is $US 4.60 a gallon. In my area it's $US 4.41 a gallon. In Vancouver $US 4.49 a gallon.

We Canadians just suck it up and take it like the men we are. Or, should I say, my truck just sucks it up.

I saw this car on Kijiji this morning before seeing it on SWF. If only it were a '72 Ford Country Squire. :(

Beautiful car! Looks like someone will get a good deal if the rest of the car is as nice as the one picture seems to indicate.

That would be $CDN 0.86 per litre. I think the last time we saw gas prices that cheap in Canada, Clinton was President and Chretien was Prime Minister. :(

Or was it Bush the Elder and Mulroney? :)

I had to check my references on this one. By "superbumper generation" I assume you mean the '73 - '78. According to the Encyclopedia of American Cars 1930-1980, 1972 at 20,192 was the third highest production year for Colony Park, following 1969 at 25,604 and 1973 at 23,283. This excludes 1977 and 1978, where breakouts between the plain-sided Marquis wagon and the Colony Park were not reported. It seems production fell dramatically after 1973 (can anyone say Arab oil embargo?).

My unscientific and non-rigorous observation is that over the last decade I've seen more '72s up for sale than any single year from '73 - '78, except, perhaps, for 1976, where I've seen roughly equal numbers.

From what I can see in the photos, it looks to be in pretty nice shape. It also happens to be one of my favorite years (not to mention having my favorite engine). Looks like the same shade of green as the '72 owned by one of the officers in the wagon club. I don't know what the exchange rate is right now, but I'd say $5K Canadian is a great price.
