Wow, that Imperial front end makes a huge difference. If I owned one, I would want it that way for sure. Stunning!

SOLD! I spoke with the guy who was assisting the owner with the sale of the car. I wonder where it went. Maybe we will see it again.

    Hey Guys,

New to the forum...been lurking and looking for a wagon!

Can anyone tell me what year Town and Countries the Imperial front clip would fit? Or what other hide away headlamp front grill / front ends would fit a T@C?

I would love to find a clean 72 and up T@C and do the conversion!

Have not seen a '72 Town & Country fitted with an Imperial front end. Probably possible but looks a bit more complicated than doing the same for a '74-'77 T& C. Front fender fins look much more pronounced on the Imperial versus T & C.

The T&C's of '69-'71 had the advantage of using the beautiful 300 front end with hidden headlamps, but there is no 300 for '72. :slap: The '72 Chrysler front end features one-year-only modifications that don't fit previous models or Imperial, but at least the fender to door fit is the same among Chryslers from '71 to '72. That being the case, I would still seek out a 300 front end set-up :2_thumbs_up_-_anima (it's not like it matters...it's not "correct" anyway) versus attempting to graft a '72 Imperial front end onto the '72 T&C :smash: because the fender to door fit would be completely wrong :hmmm: as they don't share panels, unlike the '73-77.
Edit: wrong about the '73! It is still based on the previous body.

You mentioned the fender / door line up did not match like the 73 - 77's.......

I've got my eye on a 73 T&C........would a 74 Imperial nose clip work on the 73? Or would the fenders and hood be needed too? They look close.

That would be my favorite possibility!

You would have to quote me on the one major error in my convoluted babbling post! :banghead3: lol! The '73 is an odd ball transition between the fuseloge styling and the new broad-shouldered look of '74-'77. You would be much better off to avoid '72 & '73 T&C's if it is your desire to have a hidden headlamp front end. The '69-'71 T&C's have a direct hidden headlamp twin, as does the '74-'77 T&C's.

I agree! But there are lots of fun hidden headlamp wagon choices out there! If you're partial to Mopar, keep an eye out for a '72 Dodge Monaco. It doesn't get much cooler than that!

They are far and few between, but they show up every once in a while.

    "C" body Chryslers
    '69 /'70 /' 71

    '72 / '73

    '74 / '78

The easiest way to put Imperial front end on a Chrysler body is to replace
entire front end including sub frame..
The sheet metal by itself does not interchange as does with '74 and up ...
The body mounts for subframe are on the Chrysler as both use same floorpan...
Where the bolt location is different between the Chrysler and the Imperial the
    floorpan has both....
The Imperial front sub and front sheet metal are longer....

You cannot fit the 73 and earlier Imperial front end to the Chrysler without MAJOR surgery as the front subframe is a different length. When the Fuselage cars were redesigned for 74, there was not going to be an Imperial at all. The last minute decision to include one meant there was no time or money to come up with revised front fenders, so the standard wheel base and front fenders and hood were used which is what makes it pretty simple to do the conversion on the 74 and up cars. Remember, too, that for 76, Imperial went away and the New Yorker took over the trim level, including front and rear treatments. Without the Imperial name, sales of that trim level were much higher, so there are more to find as donors.

    This is true...

However.. Change front sheet metal along with the subframe and it now fits..
The attachments mounts are there as same floor pan on both..

Then change the rear axles from Imp to the Chry..
