Ok,what do you guys think? I have contacted the seller,we have spoken at length twice on the phone. I am shedualed to view the car this week. I am quite interested in this car.

I know the lesabre is a lower trim level than the electra......aaaand that's all I know......

Seller is a nice guy, seems decent. I am looking forward to seeing it.

    Thoughts?

Looks very clean and straight and well equipped. Asking price seems reasonable. As originally a Penn. car, I'd want to look underneath for any rust issues. Those are Buick wheels (for what I don't know) but not original to this wagon - I'd want OE wheels for it, but that's just me. Good luck!

I like it and despite being a LeSabre Estate and not an Electra Estate, it is still a very luxurious wagon. I like that cloth interior. I agree... check for undercarriage rust since it is from the northern USA.

This one looks to be a beauty! Even if there are minor issues with the floor or lines, this one could be a real winner. If the frame is solid, and I suspect it is just fine, and you like the car and the price, this is one to nab. The wheels are one of those things you could take or leave but either way, a set of steel rims and snow tires for winter are a must on a rear wheel boat like this where you live. Getting going is easy. It is the stop, turn and avoid that IDIOT over there that means winter tires are needed when trying to stop a 4,000 pound car.

    hey, hey, hey

Other than the dark red not really going well with the light brown Buick woodie, this one looks great.

And that's about it when it comes to difference. It does look clean, almost to clean in a way. The newer alum wheels don't look bad on it at all IMO.

I really think it's a 89 can't confirm 100% but I'm almost positive for 88 the wood was dark on both models, no lite or dark option. a couple other things make me question....The drivers door panel and the seat material also makes me think 89

In the above pic, drivers seat control and window switches are laid out flat, and then the seat material, both different than my 88. Maybe (?) there was a cloth/velour option? But as far as the door panel.... my 88 and one other 88 that I have seen, both shared the same velour pattern, drivers power seat switch is located on the side of seat, and with exception of 4 switches for the windows the drivers door panel looks exactly like the passenger side.

My interior below, pics taken the day I drove it home before cleaning....

    EDIT......

Must have not had enough coffee this AM.....disregard everything I said, don't know what I was thinking. Yup, it's a 88, and you think I would have remembered mine is a 87 witch makes sence for the slight differences, oh never mind:slap:

Looks nice! I think those are actually wheel covers over steel wheels, though.

Hi teddy, yes I still have the buick but my son has taken it to college and I don't know WHEN I will get it back. He text me this..." Mom, people fishbowl me so hard when I am driving the car"!

And this.." Mom, I take back everything I said about your wagons being uncool" apparently at work and school all the kids go and just....hang out in the wagon.

The owner of this current wagon said it has a " knock" a slight knock when the car is at operating temperature. What's he really trying to say?

Thoughts from you all are appreciated....

I don't think it is a 1989 because it does not appear to have rear seat shoulder belts. 1989 was the first year for rear seat shoulder belts on those cars.

    "Slight knock" at operating temp.....hmmmm

I would really like some input on that statement made by the owner of this car.

    Thoughts?

Could be one of many things, the 307 from what I've been told wasn't the best for oiling so...???? I'm just over 100K miles and yet to have any ishues but ya never know Yet it could be some thing stupid simple as, my wife had a Celica GTS and in city driving at temp when stopped it developed a slite knock that turned out to be a broken exhaust hanger yet even when you laid down beside the car you would swear it was the bottom end. If your serious about the car and the seller disclosed this info as to bring it to a mechanic for inspection. If seller won't let you, then you know there is more to the story.

I'd love to see what those Buick wheelcovers would look like paired up with a nice set of whitewalls...
