not too shabby Good looking wagon, even though there's so much red. Was this a Fire Chief's vehicle? Part of an Op-Ed in the LA Times, a very long time ago, was an explanation of the colors of cars and who picks which colors and why. Red mean, all the things red means; passion, love, excitement, etc. Apparently it also means, when you were a kid, you wanted to be a fireman when you grew up. Especially if you buy a big pick-up truck or SUV.
I sort of OD'd on red cars during that period in the late 80s, early 90s, when every other collector car was painted Resale Red. You can't blame an owner for changing his car's color to red, because it does make it easier to sell. I've just seen too many. A red interior looks sharp, and I'm very fond of exteriors in darker shades of red, like burgundy or maroon.
i love it maybe i can get one of mine to be that nice................now i dont want to sell mine:confused:
sometimes, it's all in the paint job The bestest ever paint job I saw in person, was in a parking lot nearby where I live. Me and the family parked in the lot and headed towards our destination. When something caught my eye, off to my right. I turned and looked. At the far end of a long row of parked cars,,, was an aura... I mean that quite literally. There was a red glow emanating from the other end of the parking lot. Me and mt family walked down to see what was the source of this red glow. Can't remember the make or model, but it was a lot like a 40 Ford. It had been painted a "candy plum maroon" ... And when the sunlight hit it at the right angle, the glitter in the base paint reflected the light back thru the plum colored clearcoat... The car quite literally had an aura that emanated from it. And all those lipstick and fire engine red cars couldn't compete.
Last (and only) red car we've had was the wifey's maroon '68 Camaro, which she had when I met her. I don't do red cars - in or out.
