460 V8. $4500. Loaded with even the power mini-vent windows. I think we've seen this one previously, but she is still very, very nice. Interior is spectacular. http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/3927956359.html
I think this is the link from very early this year when this CP was for sale in Washington state. Impossible to verify as the old pics have been deleted, but I'm pretty sure it is the same wagon. http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23457&highlight=1977+mercury+colony+aprk
oh baby baby If I had that much money and a ride out to Yucaipa, I'd be going... Like, right now. In the middle of the night! I'd be willing to put up with being green. A true floaterboat living room on wheels.
This would make a great towing vehicle. I'm pretty sure this is the same wagon I was seeing last October or so in Washington. Almost decided to take a look at it. Price on it then was $2,500, IIRC.
Beautiful car. If it is the one I am thinking of, it had a tarp over the front wind screen the last time we saw it. Also, I wonder what the front seat looks like. The rear is beautiful, but there is not picture of the front. Also the dash has been ruined. Those after market gauges don't belong, although I can certainly understand wanting them, and the monster-sized stereo in the centre of the dash just looks so wrong in that old dash.
I wish I knew about this car sooner. I just went through Yucaipa yesterday on my way back from "Fall Fling" Mopar show in Van Nuys CA. I sure would've liked to have checked it out.
I don't mind the gauges so much, they seem to be well done but that stereo is an abomination. I suspect that those two items are severely hurting his ability to get a good price as it has pretty much eliminated all collectors from the bidding. Would make a very nice driver however and represents a great opportunity as such if it is mechanically sound. mike
If I remember right, this one was used for towing, and those gauges are a MUST! For some reason, Ford installed one light that covers both oil pressure and temperature. Sure you need to get the engine shut down as quickly as possible in either case, but it is nice to know which is the culprit! That's the only real problem with these cars as designed. I'd certainly take this one just as is.
