Always loved these ever since the first time I saw one drive down the boat launch and into the river. The Triumph Herald engine is not the most powerful, but it is durable, easy to fix, and it gets the job done. Get a ship to shore radio, and the Coast Guard will MAKE you name your car, too!

I had heard of these, and seen pictures. Have never seen one in person. Wonder if any came with 5.0s?

It's like all those late 70s and early 80s convertibles. They all got sent out to ASC or Hess & Eisenhart or whoever to have their roofs cut off, frames braced, top mechanisms installed, et cetera.

There is a white Fairmont Durango here in Wichita Falls. Guy usually parks it near the tire shop on Old Jacksboro Highway. I need to take a picture of it next time I see it. He also has a black '77 or so Charger for sale, wants $5K for it I think. It's a $1500 car but he's entitled to ask whatever he isn't going to get for it.

I like how the whole back end folds down. It looks better with the Futura coupe tails, I like it. And I hate the Futura roofline, so turning it into a pickup makes it look WAY better. Otherwise I'll take the regular 2-door post Fairmont.

ASC did most of the sunroofs for the Big Four from roughly 1971 on, as well.
