That's the 'original' Colt wagon, Mitsubishi built. , rear-wheel drive. Known as the Mitsubishi Galant in Asia and Aus/NZ. Didn't have a sedan counterpart here in the U.S. A bit bigger than the front wheel drive model that followed later.

I've seen one of these running around here. Still seems in fairly good shape.

I have not seen one of these in years! They are bigger cars than I remember. This one looks really solid.

There, I fixed it for ya. It's a pet peeve of mine (and it actually really is!). LOL! :rofl2:

All jokes to the side... the fact that it is burning oil is not too surprising, as we all know that the later Mitsubishi engines are well known for burning oil.

Btw, do you still have that Safari? I love that car! The color combo and the front end design is my favorite on those. I had forgot that you had purchased it.

Oops - I don't proof-read very well. Took me a while to spot the extra space and period. Yup, still have the Safari - only got it in December. Hope to have it for a long while.

Nice thing about these being rear drive is you can squeeze a V8 in easily. Here's a Ford 302 powering one:

Interesting car but not one I would give house room to. I haven't seen one of these on the road around here in about 20 years, for the simple reason they all rusted into piles of brown powder! This had the same platform as the Plymouth Sapporo two door that was also sold, for a time, as the Dodge Challenger. A 4 cylinder, Japanese made Challenger. What a sacrilege!

Lol. I was just kidding anyway. I seen an opportunity and had to grab it. LOL! Good going with the Safari, looks like a keeper!

    Cool looking wagon!

A local guy built a 440-powered '77 Colt two-door for the strip in the early '80s. Broke into the nines with it. Thing was scary to watch make a run! He got the Colt sideways more than once, but never wrecked it. He wasn't the brightest bulb in the chandelier, and had a serious mood swing issue. He was one of those guys whom you couldn't tell from one mnute to the next if he wanted to talk to you or kill you.
