It is a interesting optioned car, disc brakes, air, and yet a 3 on the tree.....I like it. Says cruise control???? Was this a option back then? I don't see cruise??

I can't find it but I know this wagon has been up for sale before, either ebay or Graigs...

The cruise control is that box with three buttons to the left of the column.

I love these Ford Country Sedans. I go to Del Taco by my work, I hate Del Taco, and drool over this beater of a Ford Country. I even eat at Del's just to get a look. I know :camera: maybe next time I go.

What a beautiful car. I have a feeling, though, that the cruise is an after market unit. For a very long time, cruise was only available with the automatic, to prevent lugging the engine in hills.

Definitely aftermarket cruise control. If it had been factory, it would have been a button on the end of the turn signal lever. And Mike is correct that factory cruise control required automatic transmission.

Yes, this wagon has been on here before, several months ago. It was on Ebay, and the seller was in my home town. I went by to check it out in person. Beautiful car in incredible condition. The original seller is a dealership that likes wagons. They have several wagons in stock, as well as other neat classics, along with newer stuff too.

The cruise setup on this is like a throttle set on a '40s or early '50s car. The throttle is simply set at that position, and the throttle does not move to compensate for terrain and wind. Or, the throttle setting on a tractor, same thing. You could use this with either a standard or an automatic transmission.

Now this makes more sence, I also was wondering about it's location and the fact the car is a manual trans. I had the same set up on my 65 truck, but it looked and operated the same as the choke cable, just rite below it and not in dash mounted.
