Maybe why they're trying to sell it for that price with only one photo, taken from a distance.

With one of these, $23,000 is priced to allow for some fairly serious upgrades without going upside down on value. There may be a need for new rockers, but they are available. The doors are quite likely fixable. All in all, a good car at a good price, especially for a driver quality car.

I agree with Mike on this one. Plus something just "off" below or at the front door. And that's only one side!
Still a good price if it runs and looks good up close.

For sure you are going to run into some restoration issues on this one, but overall, even at $23k, it's probably a decent investment. You'll have one of the coolest wagons out there, and when you go to sell it, you might just make a few thousand. Buy it for $23k, restore it for maybe $30k. Total investment $53k, and it's probably going to be worth a minimum of $80k.

Can I ask what makes this wagon worth so much?

Basically, it's the hardtop styling (no center pillar between the side windows on the doors). Also, it has very cool 50's styling. I would equate it to a 4-door '57 Chevy Nomad. Not that many left, either.

These wagons were built for only 2 years - '57 and '58.
As a side note, there was an Oldsmobile version as well, the Fiesta, pictured below.
