NEW PRICE! Go back in style and comfort with this ’77 Mercury Cougar Villager. This rare cat is a never winter driven, two-owner station wagon in beautiful, original condition. A one-year only model, with near perfect faux wood trim and a close to flawless interior, this two-bench seater comes complete with more get up and go than you’ll ever need in the original 351-ci V8 (bored out to 400 ci). She also sports an automatic transmission, power windows, power steering, power seats, and power brakes that won’t quit. With only 92,000 miles on the clock and a fully restored, factory correct AM/FM 8-track radio, she’ll make the Swingin’ ’70s seem as if they never left! Asking $4,900 or best offer for this Ontario car.

Does look nice....but seller could have splurged $1 at the car was and spray washed the engine.

    Dear Fat Tedy,

A spray wash is not feasible right now, as she is still in winter storage.

    Best wishes,
    Roderick

I can't afford the purchase or importing but if I could I would be proud to own a wagon like that.

That's a great looking Cougar. Does it have a/c? It's looking like no from the pics but I could not tell for sure.

I do not think it does, notice the controls only have "OFF, HEAT, DEFROST", also lack of A/C hardware under hood. Its another one of those "loaded, luxurious" 70s cars from Canada with no A/C. :) Remember the recent '73 Caprice Estate from Canada posted on here without A/C?

I love this wagon, its very nice and hard to find. Too bad it does not have A/C. Seemed to have been a common thing in Canada in the 1970s and back.

Pretty much everything but air conditioning

I'm sorry to say, like most 70s cars in Canada, this Cougar does not sport air conditioning. On the plus side, she'll use less gas which will only go up in price. So there you go.

How hard would it be to add legal A/C to one of these.

Yeah, A/C is hard to find on 1980s and older cars in Canada. In the USA, especially the southern USA, even a lot of the "plainer" cars at least had A/C. I have seen luxurious Buick Electras from the 70s without air and later find out they are Canadian cars. Guess it really wasn't needed up there too much back then. There was recently a '73 Caprice wagon in Canada with no A/C and I once seen a '72 Buick Electra with no A/C, again, a Canadian car.

Still a super nice car and very unique that it lacks A/C.

A/C is a snap to add. All the 72 - 76 Torinos and Montegos, as well as the 77-79 Cougars, LTD IIs and Thinderbirds all had the same dash and heater controls. Find a donor and there you go. Ford has a conversion kit for changing them to the 134a. Easy to do, and you have your choice of normal A/C or climate control (stay away from it, it is lousy!)

Sure does look nice. Is that a bench seat in the front? Is that the original wood?
