Personally, I would not even think about this one. I'd be keeping the Caravelle (rarity factor) and the Monaco. Two rare Mopars or one fairly common G.M. is a no brainer in my book, but it is, of course, up to you. I just wish I were in a position to buy the Monaco. THAT is the one worth owning, as far as I'm concerned.

Hemi has owned a lot of different Mopars and others over the years but still likes the drivability of these 90's B bodies. Don't know if you have ever driven one, Mike but, until you do, I wouldn't make those comments just yet.:D
Anyway...if I know hemi...when he's flush again he will have a few more Mopars around again.:yup: Meanwhile, he will drive in comfort.(y)

Silver, I have driven these wagons, and that is exactly why I said what I did. I do not feel comfortable with the seating position in the whales. To me, the top of the A-pillar feels too close to my head and there is not the leg room, again for me, that the old square wagons had. For my body, the Caravelle has a much more comfortable seating position, not to mention more comfortable seats, plus it is a much more unusual automobile, being much rarer when new, and way more rare still now. Also, the 305 is not, in my opinion, enough engine for this size and weight of wagon, especially when you load it up.

I sure will. In the next day or two I'll get detailed pictures and a complete honest description of both wagons. I will offer the Caravelle to the members here for what I paid for it ($2650). If there are no takers here I'll put it on E-bay and see what happens. I haven't decided for sure to sell the Monaco but I really have no time to work on it. My restoration business has got me swamped with work. Right now I have four cars in various stages of restoration with quite a few more on the calender. I'm pretty much working seven days a week so that leaves no time or energy to work on my own stuff.

    Looks good.:)

My OCC is one the most comfortable cars I've ever driven.:)

    Say what?:)

The 1992 5.0 is rated at 170 horsepower and the 5.7 produces 180 horses.
The most noticeable driving difference IMO is the torque, the 305 has 255 pound-feet and the 350 has the "more useful" , according to GM, 300 pound-feet of torque. If you have the standard 2:73 gear you'll really notice the difference between that and a 350 car with the same gear off the line, once you get going you can't tell the difference.

Mike you're right about the Caravelle seats being comfortable but for some reason after driving it for a month I just haven't fallen in love with it. Can't really put my finger on why, maybe the size? I really like big cars and this is a mid size. The other issue is it does need some work that I can't make the time to do. The OCC needs nothing except a little work on the tail gate and paint on the hood and top of bumpers. And as Fox said I do like the way the GM wagons drive.

Your last sentence tells me you have not tried it. And, seriously, seat position aside, I have never heard anyone, anyone, ever say that they didn't like the ride and drivability in a 90's B body wagon. Which was my original statement.

    THOSE wagons

If I'd had $2400, I'd've been willing to buy it too. My wife doesn't like 'em, thinks they're shaped funny and are too little.

There's a guy on Chic. C/L selling a 96 Caplice LT-1 that was broadsided for reasonable money - if you're up to it!
