For the 1971 model year, Ford limited changes to its intermediate line to minor revisions. The biggest change for 1971 was the decision to drop the Fairlane name from the intermediate line-up all together; the Falcon name would also not return for 1971. The Torino line-up consisted of 14 models. The base model was now the "Torino", available as a 2-door hardtop, 4-door sedan and 4-door station wagon. Next was the mid-level "Torino 500", available as a 2-door hardtop and SportsRoof, 4-door sedan and hardtop and a 4-dr station wagon. The top of the line Torino remained the "Torino Brougham", available as a 2-door and 4-door hardtop, while the "Torino Squire" remained the station wagon equivalent to the Brougham. The "Torino GT" was offered as a 2-door SportsRoof and convertible, while the "Torino Cobra" was still only available as a 2-door SportsRoof.

from the link you posted nothing about a cobra or gt wagon

Yup. I read all of the links. No mention whatsoever about being able to order the GT package on a wagon, or even ordering the 'GT' hood.

In 71, though, you could order all the GT options on the wagon, including the Cobra Jet engine. In fact, 7 people did exactly that. At least one (a green one) was scrapped, and at least one is known to survive. The survivor has the Squire package, and still wears the custom blended factory paint and wood grain. The original purchaser had it done to match the mahogany on his boat. The car was ordered as the tow vehicle. The car was profiled in "Hemmings Classic Car" magazine. Back then, too, as well as the odd ball orders, there were assembly line mistakes that were complete and foisted on dealers, want them or not. Some STRANGE combinations made it to dealer lots that way.

Ok I can do French just as will I'm only defending my self the webs do give info on these cars. The 1971 Torino wagons are so unknow that every one but few
know what that are and if you try and talk about what you now others don't
under stand, so let's start over ok.Back in 1971 you could order from many
model of cars of the same still or group if you like the cobra motor you order
it or the 351 2v ram air was a up charge as well as the other up grades yes there were limits but not many, if you know a dealer really well it was better
I will do my best to give all info better ok.

Turns out that Cobra- Jet Torino wagon was bought new not far from where i live now. The dealer is long-gone, as is the Ford dealer it was traded in at in Springfield. Very cool wagon.

I still stand by my previous statements, though. Never said you couldn't order the big monster motor in these - it was done, obviously. Also some 427 and 454 Chevy wagons around.

here is a quote from the sellers Ebay add
The wagon has a stock drive train with additional new dual exhaust and a functional GT hood scoop.

notice it says added exhaust and GT hood scoop

Get a Marti report and then post findings
