It looks like a taxi cab. It makes you wonder what people really see in their brains when they pick those type colors. Be a good start for a Tijuana Taxi, just get a taxi light for the roof, some lettering on the doors, and some old horse blankets to throw over the seats and Voila!
I would really like to see more pics of the mantion behing the wagon..... Thats old school at it's finest!
Where's the swing out stop sign on the driver's side? Got a lot of nerve parking that school bus in front of my house!
Love the car, HATE the colour, and where is all the beautiful Country Sedan trim? I still say I would LOVE to see a Galaxie 500 XL Country Sedan 4 door hard top wagon. The one they never made. That would be simply spectacular!
I keep thinking about this idea, Mike (my image is to do it on a '63 though). I swear, for a decent body technician (certainly not me), it wouldn't be that difficult.
To beef it up, and compensate for the lack of a B-pillar I would use the convertible frame which is reinforced. Have to use the B- and C-pillars from the 4 door, along with the doors, of course, and graft the C-pillar into the one of the wagon to keep the quarter window looking right. I do believe it would work out very nicely indeed. Of course, I would only do it if I found a wrecked pair of donor cars that are otherwise doomed to the derby or crusher, since the custom job would be a bugger and a half to put back to rights.
