Okay. Not a wagon but way too special not to share. 1974 Buick Electra Limited coupe with what appears to be every available factory option for 1974 to include power sunroof. Did I mention it looks to be mint condition? What's not to like? Is it priced cheap? Not hardly, but go find another one. http://carsforsale.com/used_cars_for_sale/1974_Buick_LeSabre_162949619_21
They know how to put a price on that car, but advertize the wrong model Still looking for a 75 (or maybe a 76) Electra Park Avenue
Put on a set of wide-white porta-walls, some headlight shades, pimp oil the air vents, then hang a set of mobile TV rabbit ears off one of the back windows. Then you'd have the most stylin' ride in your 'hood my fellow wagon broughamuluses. I'd name it "The Backstabber" after the best tune ever made and ever to be made. He smiles in your face and all he wants to do is take your place. You have to drive it doing the gangster/Detroit lean too. If it doesn't have a center arm rest you use your eight track case with a throw pillow over it.
Indeed they did! 74 is my favorite year for these, too. Love the front end detailing, with the separate headlamp bezels, plus it is the last year for a true hard top. 75 and 76 Electra 2 doors had the fixed B-pillar, which broke up the smooth lines. The only thing I would do differently is to route the dual exhaust tips in a more discrete manner. Other than that, it is perfect just as is. For what it is, the price is likely right in line, too. Not many of the 2-doors were built, and fewer still with so many options. That sunroof was extremely rare, too.
Very nice car. The only option it seems to lack on the outside are cornering lights. There is a dark green '74 Electra 225 Limited 4dr hardtop sedan here locally that has been setting at a body shop for YEARS! The car never looked bad, but about 2 years ago, they finally took the car inside the garage and stripped it and painted it. It was inside for many months, because I could see it through the windows on the end of the garage. The car was finally moved out about a month ago, looking like brand new, even a new vinyl top! The car has been setting there for about 3 weeks already, outside. I am not sure what is going on with it, but I have been wanting to stop and ask if it may be for sale, but of course I don't have the $ or space for it right now. I used to have a '72 Buick Electra 225 Custom 4dr hdtp back in the early 2000s. It was an awesome car. I sold it to a guy in Rock Hill South Carolina that had bought it for his teenage son. I am not sure what ever happened to it. I never heard from him again. It was a local car when I bought it, a local doctor had bought it new at one of the local Buick dealers up here and of course he passed away and I bought it from his son. I wish I had of kept that car. It reminds me a lot of my '73 Pontiac Grand Ville since its the same basic body style and about the exact same shade of brown my Buick was. The irony is that my '72 Caprice wagon is about the same shade of dark brown as well. lol.
They seem to think its a LeSabre, maybe its because the front bumper came from one (note the inserts don't match the pattern of the grille)
That's a good catch. I did not notice that. That also means it has been hit on the front at some point.
lol, yeah. Cornering lights were hit or miss on these cars. My '72 had them, but I know a guy that was fairly local that also had a '72 Electra who didn't have them, but oddly, his did have the light monitors on the top of the fenders, which my car did not have. His also had rear window defroster (rare for a southern car back then, but his car was originally from up north). My car also had the rare finger tip wiper control option on the gear shift and his didn't. I think his also had auto climate control and mine did not. I cant remember, but I think his may have been the "Limited" model and mine was the "Custom" model. The 60s-70s cars were all so oddly optioned, which is another thing that makes them so neat. My '73 Pontiac Grand Ville lacks the cornering light option, its one option I wish it did have.
Back then, and into the 80s, options were available in a completely different way than now. There were some mandatory options for certain others, but a lot of them were stand alone, so if you were willing to wait for it to be built, you got the car you wanted with the features you wanted, but without having to have a bunch of things you did not want. Much better.
