    Attention, Ford engine experts......

Most of these came with a 390 V8. Listing does not mention which size engine it's supposed to have.

Engine in the picture looks to me like a 351 Windsor, and the 351 block didn't come out until '68 or '69........

    Am I wrong on this?

The ad says it has the 390 V8.

Missed that. Doesn't look like a 390 to me.....

Beautiful looking wagon. This one has my favorite of all the front end treatments of this generation of Ford. That die cast grill is so much nicer than the pressed aluminum of the lesser cars.

The ad says, "This car was born a California wagon and better yet it is a triple black squire according to the data plate."

If that is the case, it seems like someone went to a lot of trouble to cover up all that black paint with white.

    It's not a 351.
A 351W would have three valve cover bolts on the bottom rail, a Cleveland would have four.

I think what throwing you off are the valve covers. I have seen the tall covers on other 390s that did not have the "powered by ford" covers seen on most cars.
Also I have seen most 66 390 blocks painted black with blue valve covers on top.

It is a "FE" block for sure. either 352/360/390. But it is strange that if it were sold new here in California it would have had the Air Injection System or "smog pump" on it. I have seen many full sized Ford & Mercury cars end up with a 360 truck engine swapped in because they are cheaper to buy used.

I must say that is for sure an FE all you have to look at is the where the head and exhaust manifold meet. There is no other like it and no mistaking it. It is a sweet wagon though! :yup:

Just looked at pics of my car (since I'm 800 miles away from it right now). My 352 has the same valve covers. Very nice car.

I have saved a lot of pics of 66 Fords, and I checked the white Country Squires I've saved. I thought this one looked familiar. This one was on eBay in May 2010 and April 2011. I saved the pics from both ads. To make sure, I compared the specific corrosion and such in the engine bay, and it's the same car each time. Actually, at least one of the pictures in the current ad are the same as from 2011.
