Customs are hit-or-miss with me, since each one is such a reflection of the owner's personal taste. This one I rather like. The Craigslist ad is dated 7/30/12, so it may not be around for much longer, but it was working as of when I posted this. http://dayton.craigslist.org/cto/3158722132.html Of course since it is an Ohio car, one would have to look carefully for potential rust problems, especially the frame rails. Here is the ad text: "1967 Merucry Commuter wagon, 390ci C4 trans. No work needed, can be driven daily! Asking $4500 OBO. Need sold ASAP open to trade mid size suv (937)239-6808" The satin black paint works better than a flat black, and it appears most of the chrome trim was left intact, which I think helps the visuals. I like the air-brush design on the D-pillar, too:
I saw the ad for this one too last night. Not my style, but at least for the outside, easily changed. No pics of the interior though....
I seem to remember this one showing up in the new members forum not so long ago. There can't be that many 67 Villagers in mat black with silver tops. The op had just bought it then. Wonder why it is for sale already.
This is my wagon now. Got it back in August and have already started changing things like the wheels. Let me know what you think. Interior is all original so it will also need some updating. Just keep spending the money as it comes in.
I freakin love this wagon! The satin black is perfect for that model, IMHO, and I, frankly, love the wheel covers as well. I'm unsure as of yet as to how I feel about the D pillars. Personally I would like to see chromed out wash board kinda thing going on... That image might be clearer in my head. Nonetheless, this machine has caught my eye and I would love to see more of it for sure. Edit; Nah scratch that. I like the D pillars how they are. It somehow works really well.
Boy, I'm strangely attracted to this one. I don't care for the white walls or moon discs but the rest of the car speaks to me. It doesn't however speak to me loud enough to part with 45 big ones.
