Didn't know about this model. Thanks for the info, Mike. I'm surprised I didn't run across this at the auto shows i attended back then......

Here's some info on the Talisman option:
    http://automotivemileposts.com/cadillac/cadi1974fleetwoodtalisman.html

When I was a kid in HS, we had a Dr customer at the gas station who had a big 4 door Brougham d'Elegance I believe it was called. He would pull up to the pumps(full service!) and tilt the steering wheel which almost went flat and pitch a towel over it. He would step out of the car after putting on a Pith helmet type hat(think African safari). He was a very eccentric individual but I was told he was a fine surgeon at the local hospital.

After fueling the car, 27 gallon tank, I believe, we would then make an attempt to put the car through our automatic wash rack. The soft Michelin radials of that era would invariably squish and the rack drive roller would pass under the car. finally a roller would push the car through the rack pushing the back wheel. We had to be real careful the front wheels didn't turn suddenly and the car go sideways in the rack. We finally started getting the Dr trained to hold the wheel straight to prevent this from happening. Ah what fun at the gas station! Miss those days sometime!

    ;)

I dont think you will find a classier caddy espesially with leather.i too had never heard of a 4 seater cadillac but for 3000 i cant see this car being for sale long. Very nice car if its in good condition. I would need a 10 seater for all my grandkids.i would hate to have to restore a cadillac, my buddy had a few and he told me they didnt make a lot of extra parts

Those vintage Caddys were notorious for getting rust under the padded vinyl roofs......

Funny, this is the third time that the Talisman has been brought up this week, in my world. I like them. I like anything Cadillac, especially anything that is the top of the top in luxury from them. I just am not wild on that four-seater design. I'll take a good old bench seat, front and back, thank you!

I've never heard of that model either, live and learn.:)
My buddy sold used cars downtown back in the 80's and couldn't get rid of anything but Fleetwoods. He told me all his Cadillac customers said the same thing "If it don't say "wood", it ain't no good". :rofl2:

You and apparently most of the other Cadillac customers Tom.....they only had the "4 place" setup for one year and went back to a traditional full bench rear seat the following year.

At least 5 seats is a bit more bearable. I searched all over for a front bench when I had my P71 interceptors. The two buckets wasn't a keen idea for me, either.
