    There's something funky about that tailgate...does it drop down behind the rear bumper, or did id somehow get shortened? If that was built on a Cadillac assembly line in 1974, it's a model I haven't heard of.

    Definitely not factory, Flat. Appears to have been a fairly expensive conversion, I'll bet though. We've seen a few of these mid 70's Cadillac wagons here, and some of the coach builders used a less labor-intensive method, by utilizing the earlier GM wagon body ('69-71) with a more conventional tailgate design.

    This one seems to have the normal 'clamshell' gate/glass design that all the big GM wagons has from '71 through '76. Glass disappears up into the roof. Gate disappears down below the floor. The build company would have had to remove the entire rear section of the Fleetwood floor pan, starting at the back of the second seat, and then install a pan from a Chevy, Buick wagon, etc. They might have had to modify the rear frame rails even.
