ooo very nice, even has the brougham package. but why would a white car have a green interior? must have been repainted at some point. seems like a reasonable asking price. wasn't there somone from germany looking for one of these?
I have seen it in 70's Fords.... it doesn't make sence, but it was done. Ford also loved putting Blue and tan together, if it was a solid colour with a tan interiour that would be ne thing, but they did it dark blue with tan vynal top and trim.... I've seen Rustang II's like that and remember the late 70's T-Birds? Tan top on blue, tan side trim, and those horible tan belt buckle straps on the truck? at least this colour combo is livable, but you see the bet buckle straps....
Advertisement is clearly wrong as this 1977 Cougar Villager wagon doesn't have power windows based on the interior photo.
It does not have power door locks, either. Something is not quite right, either with the ad or the pic. As for the jade interior with the white paint, that is entirely possible. With the white exterior, any colour was available. If you chose a white car and white interior, you had your choice of all the interior colours for the dash, steering column and carpet as well. Nora is a white on white, and the blue interior and and exterior accents were ordered.
No, I noticed that rite away. It is a nicer job of a bench consloe.. alot better than most that are seen, pritty darn good colour match also. But as KK mentioned..... borowed pics? I really like the white on wood, car has a nice stance also.... Borrowed pic?
I like the Blue and Tan. I would take either the Bird or Stang as a donation. Those Mustang IIs are a really under appreciated runabout, nicely proportioned and sporty.
This good looking Cougar is now down to an asking price of $2000. http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/cto/3237218713.html $1500 cash would probably take it.
These were the years Ford really decimated the Cougar. I remember the Cougar as being Mercurys stylish muscle car, flip open headlamp doors, more or less a oversized Mustang. During the mid to late 70s Ford had the awful idea of making the Cougar a 4 door and even a wagon. It was a bad time for the Cougar nameplate
I would still love to know what car that front seat is out of, and what happened to the original. These Cougar Broughams had one of the most comfortable front seats ever put into a car. I know, I'm sitting in Nora right now, and she has the same seat. I'm guessing, too, that this wagon needs springs and shocks all the way around. The front is too low and the rear too high. It will ruin the handling. These cars handle best with both ends the same height, preferably the slightly shorter, stiffer, Thunderbird springs and shocks. At least that can be fixed. Springs and Ford shocks all the way around are about $500 installed.
