NOTE: THIS IS NOT MY VEHICLE. CONTACT OWNER LISTED IN THE AD FOR INFORMATION

Just happened to check my old stomping grounds Craig's List, and came upon this little gem. I know exactly where these pics were taken, right outside the local Pep Boys down there.

You and me both, 64CS. It looks to be an honest California rust free car. Even if it has mechanical problems...it's set up already for a 302 and they are plentiful. I don't like white either, Xav, but, for 800 bucks I would snap this one up.

I know. I can "repaint" it... If I were in the market and it were closer... I have always loved window shopping. Zoe doesnt care for it but I catch her eyeballing wagons.

Yeah...I didn't mean YOU should snap it up, Xav...I know it's way far away. I would like to grab that car in spite of the color just because I think it's probably rust free and it's cheap. But...way to far away for me, too.:yup:

FYI price is jacked up to $1200 on this car.

I would think that while it would be as slow as the speed of smell, a 4-cylinder one of these Fairmont wagons with the 4-speed manual would get really good mileage.

I am confused... It states that it has a 302

What's all the 4 cylinder talk?

For $800 colour is irrelevant. haha I opened the thread hoping to see an orange Fairmont!
Is it mechanically sound, and if not, can one deal with fixing it is the question.
Looks like a red interior. Looks a lot nicer than the white one that was next door here a couple of weeks ago.

Good 'ole Orange, California. This is approximately 5 miles due east of Disneyland. In fact, the street you see out front of this shopping center is Katella Blvd., which goes right by the park on the south side. What? You can't see a street? Look in photo#2. Street is right in front of the brick red buliding you see in the distance. That building is on the other side of the street.

My mom's dad had a 4-cylinder powder blue Fairmont sedan.I was saying if this was the four, and a 4-speed, it would probably get mileage comparable to that of say, a Ford Fiesta. Actually the 302, tuned right, fuel injected, with an AOD behind it, should return close to 30mpg driven lightly. If a 225hp EFI 302 can get 27mpg on the highway in a HEAVIER '87 Mustang GT with street gears, then it should do even better with long legged gears in a paper thin Foxy body wagon with vinyl seats and no electric stuff and all that. Heck, a 2-barrel carb on the 302 combined with an AOD and say, 3.00 or 3.08 gears, should be more than enough to see 30mpg out of that wagon.

Also, it really ought to be orange, with little dog dish hubcaps, straight out of Edward Scissorhands. Or a more sedated color and off the set of E.T.
