    Don't think it's A/C...
Looks like one of those accessory tissue dispensers to me, although it looks kinda wide.....

Where's the transmission selector on this car? Is this one of the cars with the transaxle in the rear?

Isn't that a shifter knob just behind the top of the steering wheel.

That box seems kinda long for a tissue holder. Is that a lock on the front?

I just read the wiki article on these. The selector lever for this car is a lever on the dash just to the right of the ignition switch and it does have the rear mounted transaxle. That gave it a 50/50 weight distribution.

Don't know where the shift lever is. And yes, this vehicle has a rear transaxle.

    Looks good. Nice original interior.

Automatic trans shift lever is under the panel, just to the right of the key.

I just remembered seeing the 4 door version around here with the "half motor" and the shift lever was on the floor, up against the seat by driver's right leg. I am not sure on this one.

That could have been a 3sp. or 4sp. manual. Hard to come by. It seems that not many manual trans cars survived.

I see it all now, that thing that looks like a parking brake release is actually a cable with detents to select the trans ranges and the round thing on the dash just to the right of the keys is probably the range indicator. :)

Wiki said this "half" 4 cyl motor was actually the right half of the 389 and was built on the same line with the 389's to save costs. They were known to buck pretty badly if they got out of tune.
