Not my car. Saw it on eBay. Anyone believe the claim of 11k original miles? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1979...48?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item43aed9cf1#r4-42
Clean car, but, bottom of the line for me. Vinyl seats, bench front seat, roll ups and the seller has a 98% feedback rating. As for the mileage...I never believe miles that low...especially looking under the hood of this one. I don't know when it started, but, now days people are getting away with stating what's on the odometer as original miles. Well....yes, they are original miles, but, are they the ONLY original miles.
It is a clean car, and if it were better equipped with power windows, locks, 350 V8 and woodgrain Estate option, I would be interested. The red interior is very sharp. I think it has been repainted at some point as the body emblems are not placed correctly. But the fibbing on the miles is a real turnoff. This Caprice clearly has 111k miles on it.
there are some options on it, air, cruise, pulse wipers, 3rd seat, sport mirrors, rack, lol Seems to have a saggy headliner too
Everyone's complaints and concerns are legitimate, but no car is perfect. I agree that I would want further documentation about the mileage, and some photos of the undercarriage and engine would help. Having said all this, though, even at 111,000 miles, it's a very nice car as long as you could get it for the $2200-ish it's currently going for. I know we've had this debate before as well, but I would not let the seller's 98% feedback rating stop me. I would never buy a car without checking it out in person, anyway, and if the car checked out to my satisfaction and was fairly priced, I wouldn't let the seller's lack of complete saintliness stand in the way. I'm buying the car, not the seller, and by actually going to see the car and the seller in person, I can alleviate any concerns I might have about dealing with someone on the other side of the country strictly via the internet.
Maybe so, but as everyone always says, "it's only worth what someone will pay you for it." Well, apparently someone will pay $3800 for it. Congrats to the seller and the buyer.
