All the buyers are nibbling at the reserve - 14 bids so far and it's only up to $1,525. Wonder what that 'low reserve' is.....?

Nice looking car but not for me, it's a smogger here in Ca.

What's that brake master cylinder? Weird, is it hydroboost or something?

You're right. It does look like a nice one, but I'm not sure that wood is correct. You'd think since he went to all the trouble of replacing it, he would've made certain to get the dinoc that belonged on it.

Hope you get a chance to look, hemi. I would have to redo that new wood and put a dash cap on it...but that Merc is appealing even in that period correct color. I love the old Exner stuff but I shy away from primered cars for the most part. With your body experience you would have no problem seeing anything under there on that 59, though. If you see the Merc...please come back with the your comments.

I agree, snoot. Makes the car look worse than it is. The wood looks totally wrong, flat and, seemingly, grainless. It probably isn't but...it looks like shelf liner stuff. Ruins the look of the car IMO.

Been thinking about this car....if azhemi wouldn't have found the CL ad that shows the $4200 price....I think I would be on this car. I love the old wierd paint colors. They stand out and proclaim its age and the fact that it is original. And I am fond of the 460. Only thing that may stop me from bidding, besides hemi's price post, is the 11 miles per gallon you will get. I had a big 77 Lincoln 4 door (I loved that car) with the 460 and 11 is all I could hope for.

He has a classified ad on e-bay for $3500 for the CP. His 59 just sold for $4000 on e-bay. He had a $3500 classified ad for it too. I guess if the $4000 buyer knew that he could've saved $500.

I just found out that, as loaded as the car is, it has no tilt. That gets me off it.

Yep SF, it is not the right wood grain. I don't mind it at all. Looks like it has hydro boost brakes, LOVE them! I had the same wheel covers on my Lincoln Mark 4. They are for Lincoln Town Coupes and Town Cars.

Well I just pulled up his E-bay ad to get the phone number to call him to go see it and it's gone. Says no longer available. Someone must of given him his price.
