    Just a question.......

...... rather than a reserve, why don't you just say you are wanting/starting the 1st bid @ $_____?

    Good question.

If I change my mind, I can lower the reserve, but if I start at the reserve price it may scare-away some potential buyers. I guess you could call it Seller's Remorse. Did I ask too little? Kinda why auctions even exist. To let the market decide the value. Plus, it builds excitement.

Somebody comes close, I'll drop the reserve and send it on it's way!

I get as much interest in this car as I have with some radical Street Rods I've built! It's an absolute blast! So, if it doesn't sell I'm not going to be too worried. It'll just hamper the start/finish of some of my other builds.

FrankenRodz, I just accidentally made a second post about the Kahuna after seeing it on eBay. I didn't read this thread before I did that.

Anyway, I found your Hub Garage page with the large pics of your car and saved them to my computer. Glad I did too, because I've been toying with the idea of doing some kind of surf treatment to my 66 Ford. One thing that's stopped me was the lack of a roof rack. But you've done a good job pulling off the surf look without a rack. One thing I didn't notice before until I found the large pics was the surfboard paint job on the rear view mirror. Clever idea! Anyway, you mentioned the waterproof material on the door panels. Would that be like a furniture fabric, or something similar?

Thanks for the compliments. I try to do all my rides as tastefully as possible without hitting you over the head with the look. It's a fine line.
The fabric is like Sunbrella brand, that is made specifically for outdoor use. Mold/microbial resistent. I got mine at a local fabric store.

I do have a surfboard for it, that fits nicely in the back. Ebay photos are older before I added the board. I put an aged patina paint job on the board, so it looks like it came from the 60s. Sometimes I lay a beach towel on the roof and put the surfboard on that at shows.

The problem with a surfboard on a conventional roof rack is the buffetting noise at high speeds.

Frankenrodz, I wish I was one of those rich friends we're all looking for. That's a beautiful wagon. Excellent, excellent job. Have you restored any other wagons?

    Thanks

We're doing a 53k original mile 1941 Plymouth Woodie Wagon right now for a client.

The wood is being restored, and it will be repainted in the original maroon color, the interior has been redone stock, but the drivetrain will be a new LS7 crate motor with all the fixins!

I'll post a build Thread one of these days. It's been a fun project.

Here's a before shot, when we dropped the frame.
