Sure did, but it seems you can't give wagons away these days, except to those demo derby @$$holes.

I would not be a happy camper, but I didn't have the finances to stop it from happening anyways, ya know?

Trouble is, a derby guy sees that for 600 bucks...he calls the seller and tells him wait...it's sold as soon as I can get there! Dents, non-runner...no problem.

I know, I've had derby guys try to buy my cars. I tell them to get f---ked. But I care about the old land yachts, wagon or not. A guy offered me 800 bucks for my 79 Electra, as a derby car. I chased him out my yard with a shovel. Sold it for 1100 that day to a guy who takes loving care of it.

Well I am just going to have to post here because I was the guy that bought it! I saw it Saturday evening and did the "I would like to look at it and probably buy it" approach. I guess i was the first guy. Could barely sleep and then he called the next day at 11am. I have been looking within 500 mile radius but this one was local which was great.

Engine runs great...now. When I started it up it kept dying. Took it around the block, dyed at stop signs. His wife needed it to go and his registration (ah yes, $75) was due in Aug. The front windows don't roll down, the way back window motor turns but window doesn't move. the radio, heater, ac, and air leveling don't work. Having the power steering hose changed soon (there is a leak). Front blinkers weren't working.

But...body is in great shape. New drum brakes, transmission, alternator, starter.
Interior is good with the tan cloth seats and rear facing 3rd row seats. Although he was a painter and a few splotches around. He bought from an old guy a couple years ago and barely used it.

I replaced the front bulbs...they were lit but not blinking...and now they blink. Replaced the Idle Air Control valve and POOF is doesn't die at stop signs.

I went to Auto zone and picked up a high pressure power steering hose and tried replacing...and I do mean try...that thing is rusted on there. So next is to get the windows working.

Trying to find a salvage yard with some parts also...but glad to be on board with this car!!

WOW!!! Too cool, steveo!:thumbs2: That car isn't too far from me and it disappeared too soon for me to look at it. I was bummed because I would never know what was wrong with it and if it could be turned into a good runner or not. This is too cool. You join up after buying THIS car.
SOOOO...what was wrong with the engine? Dayum...you have to tell us all about this car now that you joined up!:yup: And we need pix!:29:

Nothing wrong with the engine as far as I can tell. Have been driving around and it works great! The seller had taken it in to a mechanic and they noticed a trickle of oil splashing out the air intake and said something about an engine rebuild...which was totally wrong (I think). But since he didn't know how to fix it thats why it was being sold. I'll post some more pics. But still there are some basic electronics that don't work so that outta add up quick!!

I thought this was the car you were talking about. Sounds like you got a good car for the money!

Oh...I thought the ad said something about it not starting or not running right. Maybe it just needed to have someone drive it.
Sounds to me like that car's only problem may be neglect. It may surprise you and not cost as much as you think to get it up and running with all systems working.

You are the one that found and posted this car, CE. I was really going to go look at it but when I emailed the seller it was already gone. Stevareeno must have been quick!:biglaugh:

Well I am going to a shop on main street in waunakee tonight to get some stuff fixed!
Way I look at it is as long as the engine starts, it goes, and it stops..that's most of it. Other stuff can be fixed.

The thing I have learned with Craigslist is there is a difference between asking a bunch of questions and saying I want to look at it! And I was doing a couple searches a day within 500 miles. Thank God for searchtempest !

You guys know of any good salvage yards in WI ? I called one in Milton and he said he had a few crown vic's. I am trying to find if Colony PArks had a leather option for seats and then some window motors of course.
