Is anyone old enough to remember the commercials for Mercury Colony Park's where they would say "If Lincoln Continental were to build a station wagon, this would be it"? That was their schtick in the late 60's and they were pretty damn nice.... You know, I had a '84 CP like this - for a week. Never really got to enjoy it. I'm thinking there might be another one of these in the future for me, maybe when I retire from doing my work. The '91-'96 GM B-bodys are nice, but for some reason I just don't get as excited about them as I do these....and it's only the CP. I'm sort of cold on the Country Squires of this gen........
I had owned one like this in the past and i liked it, it was my favorite car. i would like to buy an other in a near future. difficult to find in Canada
Norman found some original TV commercials you can watch on your computer. http://www.archive.org/details/Car_Commericals_1966-1970 The commercial #51 is for the 69 Mercury and includes the Colony Park and the tag line you quoted.
