Well, I was pretty dead set on either the '77 Country Squire in Nebraska or the '71 Country Sedan in Iowa. They're both Fords. They're both 400's. They both have working air conditioners. They're under budget. BUT. They're both 600+ miles away. This is about 30 miles away. I could WALK for crying out loud (but why walk when I have a wife to ride out & follow back, you know what I mean, Vern?)

So I'll post it here in case my wife makes the sign of the cross after seeing all that beige and all that woodgrain and all that vinyl. I might be able to soothe her a bit with the idea of some velour seat covers, though...would run about $25 apiece for the benches without the armrest cover...

And I could put towels on the side facing seats or something...

    Looks nice.
I wouldn't necessarily believe that the 65k is original though. That's only 1,700 miles a year. It's probably more like 265k.

Yeah, it looks nice.....@ a 100 feet! Could very well be a honest car but very hard to tell from those distant, and in the shade (cargo erea) pics. I'd ask for better and more pics before a 600+ mile drive..

That's what I'm saying. This one is only 30 miles from me, not 600+. Just on the other side of the county I live in. Owner says it drives perfect and the AC is cold, it's got a valid state inspection sticker and a clean title, but he let the tags expire to sell it. Down here in TX a seller is now supposed to remove tags from a vehicle before sale. A couple years ago plates stayed with the vehicle.

If I can get this thing I'm going to try real hard to find a set of appropriate '73 plates for it like this $80 pair on eBay:

Or this set I found on another website for $69:

Or shoot, this $20 set on eBay:

This would be a fun vanity thing for car shows, if I can get a window sticker printed up too, this is a cardboard Oklahoma dealer temp tag!

I already got AMY-107 plates for my Torino. Best part of that is my wife is Amy, and she was the one who bid on the car on eBay in the first place.

I'm headed to go look at this on Friday. The seller isn't available tomorrow morning and it was too late tonight when I found the listing, would have been dark before I could get there. If it's right, I can probably offer him $2000-$2200 and if he takes, I get, and if not, see where I'm at next Friday to offer more if it's still available and wife doesn't force a Suburban on me sooner.

Sure looks like a clean car. But I'm with Tedy, get closer and cleaner pictures. But if it's solid as a rock, $3,000 is not too bad at all.
