I always liked the canted headlights of the 1961-'62 Chryslers. And those fins...

Oh, heck yeah! With its bubble-shaped AstraDome integrated gauge cluster with awesome electroluminescent lighting and a factory tuck & roll dash, baby! :D

I agree early 1960's Chrysler design details have always intrigued me. I really like the features of the Imperial Crowns.

But I will probably never own one. My loss.

I will bet you this car brings surprising money. Did anyone notice the 300 grille?

I did, but I don't quite understand the look of the emblem in the middle. The 300 cars had a red, white and blue emblem, but the one in that wagon looks very different and has what looks to be a somewhat raised gold design in the middle.

But the New Yorker didn't have a crosshair grill like that. That was a 300-only design in '61. Regardless, I still can't figure out what that emblem is in that grill. It's a bit of a mystery to me. :scratchchin:

Nope Mr Bill. You were right from the get go. It is a 300 grill with probably the gold lion. Can’t really tell. The Newport grill was straight across tubed type grill. The New Yorker was similar except it had a raised design, but similar to the Newport, only a little more detailed

The thing is, I can't think of what lion emblem would fit in there. Most (all?) of the golden lions were from the Windsor models and they were typically bigger than that centre emblem, so it's a bit of a mystery. Now I want to see a straight on shot of that grill to see what's in there. lol

That looks like an early Chrysler emblem that they used in the ‘30’s and ‘40’s. It actually looks like a steering wheel horn emblem.

Nice. That was in the ad??? I looked through all the pics and I didn't see that one. That style of emblem is originally from the 20s through the early 50s and Chrysler brought it back again in 1993 (I believe) and used it through about 2010. It's not correct or original to the car, so it's still a bit of a mystery, as Chrysler didn't use that emblem in that era.

Yeah, I was thinking it may have been a horn emblem. Whatever the case, it's a perfect fit!
