1972 Pontiac Catalina Safari 400

Low option (AC, FM radio, third seat, power tailgate, and luggage rack is all I see). Damage to right rear and bumper. The tailgate "needs help with your hand." Almost 160,000 miles. Many photos are redundant, and no photos of the engine. $17K for all of that? Wow. $5K would be generous.

Just because you can put something on Hemmings doesn't mean you should put something on Hemmings.

 

Looks like they are even throwing in the junk on the back floor too!

 

I think your $5000 estimate is generous! 160K Needs Paint plus Body work, needs the woodgrain redone, low option, needs tailgate motor or more likely regulator repair or replacement. If the 160K is accurate, the entire drive train & suspension need to be redone. The only plus is the interior, and it is my least favorate color

 

Price too high, needs to much, too many better cars available for less money. Being rare does not always translate into being valuable.

 

Holy crap as least you would expect people to clean up the car for that price or do you get the mold for free?

 

...well... the ad does say ‘negotiable’. Maybe leaving the mold is a tactic to get someone to start negotiating....

Seller is getting closer to reality, but still probably 2X what its worth. But if you could find someone that was looking for that color interior & headliner you might get more.

I could use the Catalina Dash Badge, but that is about it
