I thought the 402 was a 396 block that had bad castings and they later bored them out to a 402 and used them in 72 model year cars. The Monte Carlo's, Caprice, and Caprice wagons used them. Not sure if any of the mid sized cars used them

Looks like that rear window on the passenger side will need some work, and the bottoms of the doors look similar.

Yes, it has problems which mean that premium price is out of order.

Well at least it resurfaced. I wondered what had happen to it, I think it use to be 12K.

Has a 400 motor. Has rust along the lower doors. Built in Wisconsin so probably spent a good deal of time there. If so it's in great shape considering.

If I had the dough to spare I'd maybe give $8K.

Is that black vent looking thing in the rear, rear A/C? Anybody know.

Really? I can't imagine it would be very effective given where it is located. Seems like the Chevys were the only GM clamshells not to offer the electric grid-type rear defroster as an option.

That a "Rear Window Defogger" according to the '74 Chevy wagon brochure. I couldn't find any mention of another rear window defroster/defogger being available in the '72-'74 wagon brochures. Maybe it was a dealer option?

I had one in my '75. Living in CA it's rare that conditions would create humidity inside the car, but it did help some with keeping the air moving around back there when I would run the A/C. The vent plate louvers faced in two directions, front and rear. Mine had two speeds, low and high; I typically used the latter setting.
