Is that a rear seat A/C and heater? Would that be a stock option? I do not know much about Full size Chryslers of that era.
He refers to it as a "Dual A/C" system, and the '73 Chrysler full-size brochure does mention such a thing in the options list. Look at the second and fourth items down on this list. Both the "Dual Manual" and the "Dual Auto-Temp" were available only on the Town and Country. From the photo of the rear a/c system, it certainly looks like an original installation. Usually an indication that it's overpriced. I agree it looks nice in the photos, but we haven't seen it up close, and perhaps people who have have found it to be less than advertised. Also, $4,500 is steep for one of these in this condition. This is a $2,000 to $2,500 car.
Yes, that is the optional rear A/C unit on the roof. Had it's own fan and evaporator but just used extension hoses to run the Freon back to it. Only one compressor on the engine to run freon through all the hoses. About double the amount of freon needed to charge the system from empty.
