Well, I did get some pretty flowers. No complaints! :D I consider the fender skirts a pretty good score. And my 2nd grader made me a card, which is a sure-fire way to make a mom happy.

House paint! At least it's a nice shade of house paint. :rednose: Was the original engine the straight six, with powerglide transmission?

Oh, and the headliner arrived today from SMS Auto Fabrics. I'll bring it over to the trim shop this week. I ordered it back in June, I think - had almost forgotten about it! So that was a nice birthday surprise.

    Good morning, everyone.

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of Blue (Joyflea), the Kingswood now has a set of small caps. These just arrived today. Thank you so much, Blue. They will look terrific on the car!

And, yesterday I went by the shop. It had been a few weeks. Larry, the mechanic, has been going over the frame and it's now repainted, with new springs and suspension all around. Please correct me if I'm describing something incorrectly, or if you see something significant that I missed!

Bracket added to support the new transmission.

New bushings to support the body. Old ones didn't look so good.

Does it look like the rear end has been rebuilt, too? That was in the plan.

    Out with the old...

Also, he's been working on the engine... distributor is in place.

One more pic of the suspension....

Stephen, shop owner, tells me they'll be fitting the engine onto the frame early next week, and possibly putting the body back onto the frame. I'll keep you posted.

Lisa it looks real nice ! There should be some gasket cement where the third member ties into the housing if he had rear end apart . Also you can check the rear end fluid and see if it's clean and full . But looking at the work he's done so far he probably is a good and honest mechanic . Is that crate motor a 340 horse . If so you will love it , have one in my 39 pu . Did you like the address label ? Latter , Blue .
