Hope the new owner really wants it and doesn't just derby or dismantle it.

Yep, that is it! Fairly rare on the Chevys. That car in the pic you posted below does not have tilt wheel (notice the straighter gear shift lever), which is odd considering it had the rare auto-climate control... these cars were just so oddly optioned, you have to love it.

How did you know about the dash sensor, Kingswood? I find no reference to it in any of the factory catalogs. Just curious. :yup:

Just decades of being fans of these cars... since the late 80s? :)

It is the same in the sedans/coupes as well and in all of the GM cars of that era.

It is the "temperature sensor" part of the HVAC that automatically adjusts the temperature coming out of the vents. I am sure it works like the same systems in newer cars, but their sensors were a little less conspicuous. :)

Here is one in a '95 Lincoln Town Car (a car like I used to have). It is to the right of the HVAC panel, so as late as the mid 90s, these were still visible, but on newer cars, they are more hidden.

... and here is the dash panel of a '73 Buick Electra with the automatic climate control option... note the location of its temperature control sensor... on the top of the dash on the passenger side... it is round.

Likewise, thanks! :yup: The rarity of Comfortron on Chevrolets make me hope this loaded '74 CE survives even more.

Oh cool, I am popular! LOL.

That first wagon is the actual wagon this seat is out of it I remember correctly. I saw this awhile back and had forgot about it. It was a pretty rough car, it was a '73 Caprice Estate and a very nice optioned car. Sadly no one bought it (I think it was priced at $2000), so now being parted out.
