Kind of weird the way the front of the hood has rusted that way. It seems unusual. Otherwise, looks like it could be a good car. That gray color has to be a bit unusual. I don't recall ever seeing it on a wagon of this vintage.

In his ad, he says he "might" know of a place to get another hood. Why doesn't he just call that guy and find out, so there's no more "might" about it?

Also, is it actually necessary to replace the hood? Couldn't this problem possibly be repaired? I'm sure a fresh, non-rusted hood would be better, of course, but what if "might" turns out to be "no"?

Yeah, that is a very unusual place for rust. Can't figure what would cause that. Somehow trapped moisture on the inside most likely......

Quite often when just one panel rusts way more than the rest of the car it's because the panel had been replaced and not properly prepped and painted. Don't know if that is the case here but it's possible.

I think the front end must have been hit at some point. I have a '75 catalina, and this definitely has 76 parts on the front of it. The bumper and grille are different between '75 and '76. Good looking car, otherwise.

    That's definitely a 1976 grille!

Here's what factory 1975 looks like.

Kind of surprised this Pontiac is still for sale. Well equipped and the asking price is not off base.

Nice wagon, Little touch up on the hood and it's good to go, or hide the rust with a bug shield!!!!!!!
