I wouldn't have believed it........ Page from a '65 Dodge brochure http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/dodge/65dgc/bilder/27.jpg
I've seen some old Ford wagons with factory installed buckets, floor-shift 4-speeds and even heard there was 428CJ Fairlane wagon built in '69. They exist, but they are far from the norm.
So does the 4 spd justify the $16,500 asking price? I'm no expert. And not insuating that's it not. I'm just curious.
I suppose it does. Not long ago someone made a big deal about a car with power door locks. Does 880 designate that it has 2-440 big blocks ?
I mean I guess it is rare because of the 4 speed which is cool, but I don't know if it is $16500 cool especially in its current state. Otherwise it is just a rusty Dodge station wagon with a 383 2 barrel.
Dude can ask what he wants, as we all know but I don't see anything close to $16,500 there either. It'd be a stretch even if it was in #1 condition. Just not a popular ride. Way cool though.
I agree. There are some vehicles that could be one of ten with zero miles and still no real demand for them. Whoever pays much over $10,000 for this wagon should plan on fixing it up and driving it a long time. I can't see much demand for a heavy station wagon with a 4-speed.
Dodge Custom 880.........that brings back a bad memory........and why I don't do Mopars anymore. I bought a 1962 Custom 880 2 door hardtop, back in the late 80's. It was a Tucson native, ZERO rust anywhere. I put a fresh 440 in it, had the pushbutton 727 rebuilt, added A/C, new paint, new interior, Dodge Magnum 12 spoke wheels.......a nice, reliable driver that got lots of attention. It was one of 1761 built. I searched for a buyer for 2 years for that car. I even took it to the Mopar only show in Van Neys, Ca where it drew a crowd all day, but no buyers. I finally sold it to a guy in Belgium, who bought it from me at Pomona Swap Meet for $8,000.00 dollars. I told my wife if she ever saw me drag another Mopar home, load the gun, and use it. I have no idea why this rough, rusted, wagon with a 383 2barrel, 4 speed car should be priced at 16,500...........but you can ask anything, i guess. I won't be racing to be the next owner.
