I haven't seen a lot of these lately. How do they differ from Wagons made six years later?

I'm just not a fan of the way they did the woodgrain on these. I personally like the woodgrain delete on these. Just my opinion.

The 77 - 79 Olds wagons had the lower wood grain with arches over the wheels, unique to other GM wagons. With the 1980 update the wood option was straight from the headlight to the tailights similar to the rest of the GM family and remained that way through the end of the model cycle in 1990.

The biggest difference is that the 350 V8 was standard with the 403 optional for 1977-79. By 1981 the gutless 307 was the only engine choice other than the diesel. The 1980s models were generally better built with better interior materials, though.

I see the difference. But jwdtenn, That part about the engines isn't quite correct for 1980; Some Wagons had a 4.something engine, is it a 4.4?

How come when guys get married, most of the time the first things to go are their classic cars?

The Oldsmobile 4.3 litre (260 cid) V8 was an option for the mid-sized Cutlass Cruiser wagon in 1980. It was not available in the full-sized Custom Cruiser.

I was reading there were 4.4 Litre engines for 1980, 1981 and 1982 Chevy Full-Size Wagons. Those are Chevrolets, though. Sorry for the assumption this also applied to Oldsmobiles.

I mentioned earlier in this thread I wasn't a fan of the way the woodgrain was on these models, I finally realized it is the way they outline the wheel arches. I would like them a lot better if the top line was like the Caprice and straight.
