Here are the pictures he sent. I am awaiting interior pictures and an explanation on the flat tire and hubcap missing. It has black interior, appears from the pictures to be as clean as they come.

It does look very clean. Nice color combination, too.

No not yet Swanny, nothing at at. I just checked my email and nothing, looks like he is only dealing with you at this stage. I think The Australian thing might make is too hard for some perhaps.

Well he wants $6,250. No less. At thats probably a good buy. But I am not crazy about the yellow. So at this time I am out. He just emailed me back Premier, says he has two others that want to come look at it. I told him that if they did not buy it I would be interested but not at the $6,250. Have to wait and see what happens I guess

Hopefully he will not back out like the guy with the MINT '73 Caprice Estate in California did. I was ready to buy it ($2500) and he backed out. I was not very happy.

Oh that was years ago... around 2008 I think. It was a year after I bought my '72. I was going to borrow the money to get it and have it shipped from California! The car was posted on Craigslist. It was a beautiful car and IIRC, it was very highly optioned! We talked about the car and old wagons on the phone for a bit. I was waiting for more photos to be emailed, then I was told they had decide to keep the car. I was pretty disappointed. :( A super nice '73 Caprice Estate for $2500... it was a deal too good to be true. Then a couple of years late, ANOTHER '73 Caprice Estate in excellent condition showed up at a good price, but it sold fast!

Yes that is why I am looking at other options as well. It seems tha from here it might be near impossible to beat someone over there to clean and highly optioned 73. I hope I hear back about this 76 though, stay tuned!

As a kid back in '73, I remember seeing a new '73 Caprice convertible with that same color combo–yellow exterior and black interior–at a local Chevy dealership. It remained unsold for quite a while. A friend told me that, according to a retired Ford executive he knows, color combinations across product lines were set for 7 years.

All that aside, NADA guide says the low, average, high value on this car is $2,500, $4,425, and $8,400, respectively. How credible is this guide do you think, especially when, as mentioned earlier, another very clean '76 wagon went for much more on ebay?

My dream clamshell is a bronze '73 Caprice Estate, loaded to the max... the #2 would be a loaded green '73 Grand Safari.

So I was wondering who was trying to get this car and who may have ended up with it. He probably seen the super high interest in it and removed the listing and will relist for about $12K. lol.

However, there were other cars listed in the ad, so that is strange.
