If you're gonna make me haul a battery to your wagon and hook it up to just take a test drive, see 'ya..........
    -- Maybe for a $600 car, but not for one that's $2,800.......

A 1970 Mercury Monterey wagon does not appear just every day. ;)

(But, still, do get the point about the battery.) :D

Personally, I would sooner put my own new battery in it, that way the warranty is in MY name! Nice looking wagon, that's for sure. The thing is, they don't talk about options. Virtually any option you could get on the Colony Park was available on the Monterey. They could be loaded up to full luxury status, for those who did not care for the wood grain or hide away headlamps of the CP. All in all, a great looking car, that seems to want for little.

Not to get off subject but I seen a ad for a used riding lawn mower and seller wanted you to bring gas and a battery if you wanted to start it...it wasn't a steal of a deal to begin with. Not sure what's going on with sellers these days, if I really wanted to sell I would find a battery for it.

Yup, they could be loaded up with options, with no interiour pics we'll never know. I'll bet a syber net coffee though this fine example has plane as jane interiour as my 72 Cunakastan Beateor vertion. The 390 is a nice selling point also, but a bit more detail needed....2V, or 4V, rear jump seats, etc....

Ad says it needs a new battery, wonder if it just needs a jump start/charge to run? Doesn't really make it clear if there is no battery to begin with. I'll bring jumper cables, but I won't supply a battery for a test drive at $2800.

It does look dam nice though!

Oh it's rare, I'll bet you will find 20+ 70 Colony Parks before you find another one of these....and although no interiour pics, where are gona find one that looks this good on the out side!

But strangly enouph, the internate has been getting wierd...... wagons no body has seen in 20 years pop up, not just one but in numbers at times.

My 80's Olds Gutless Crusiers, never saw any and then for awhile they were every where for sale.

My 72 Meteor, hadn't seen one since....197?....and a member not only found another one for sale, but on my island in my own town for sale.......

Been a few other when was the last time you saw ......... wagon that has popped up in numbers

From the windshield back this 70 is identical to my 72, I'm sure the interiour had it's yearly cosmetic changes though.

The 1970 Marquis wagon would be the rarest, the six passenger in particular.
They made a pretty good number of those wagons though, looks like people either got the cheap one or the expensive one.

    1970 Monterey 4 door station wagon 5,164 $3,440
    1,657-(6 passenger) 3,507-(10 passenger)

    1970 Marquis 4 door station wagon 2,388 $3,930
    959-(6 passenger) 1,429-(10 passenger)

1970 Marquis 4 door Colony Park station wagon 19,204 $4,123
    4,655-(6 passenger) 14,549-(10 passenger)

That's really interesting. I would never have expected that there would have been twice as many Monterey wagons as compared to the base Marquis. The Monterey is seen much less often now - guess most of those were used up and thrown away long ago.

It's as simple as a 10 day test drive, a couple 2 day follow ups, and we'll have ya away from the dark side......or stay in denile and buy a couple GM's from me:biglaugh::rofl2::D

I like the "390 CC engine" description. Pretty dinky engine for such a big wagon!:dancing::jumping:
