Geez, a person could fly in, then camp their way home and make a holiday out of the trip. A stop at Wally world for essentials like your own blankets and pillows, food, utensils, and a person who really likes '61 wagons could drive all the way back to OR without missing a beat. Know anyone in OR who likes '61 Chevy wagons?
Yeah, then when your tranny throws up halfway across the great plains you can spend $2k more and 2 weeks living in back of Arnie's Transmissions & Towing in Klampashaw Kansas....... I'd be single after this little adventure..... Not sure why, but I'm seeing red flags on this one.Maybe because it's.................red
Oh, look, someone from OR responded. The car has to work for you in all regards. Before any adventure like this, including buying it, I'd need to see a complete mechanical inspection done. Nothing is more fun than camping behind an automotive repair shop while they work their way through your wallet, your credit cards and you line of credit to make next months payroll and building rent. I too would be living in the trailer for ever if I did something like that. The red is not my first, or second or third choice. A repaint is not inexpensive and there is always going to be bodywork hidden under even a very nice car so that adds up very quickly. I wonder if there are any other OR residents who are looking for a wagon? There must be at least one more out there somewhere. Oh, and having met your DW, I suspect she'd put up with a lot before she helped you pack your things. She's a nice lady and seems much like mine, will take a lot of our guy-stuff as part of living with such a nice guy
Hmm, maybe if the wagon/trailer has a primo inspection report, including no rust issues, AND vintage AC, maybe then it might be a good deal at 10-12k?
So I showed the DW this thread, and she said, "Luv ya and and all, but if I had to spend two weeks in that little trailer, with you.........see ya later!"
Yeah, that size of trailer was great when we were in our teens but after that we needed room. For some reason the trailer seemed to have shrunk along with our clothing If this were me, and I wanted one of these wagons, and I didn't mind red, and I was convinced it was in excellent all around condition, I'd be pursuing it without the trailer. And offering 6. But this isn't your car Marshal. You aren't fond of this red, it is a long ways away, and there are just too many unknowns. The advert spends as much time on the trailer as it does on the wagon and they need to be sold as individual units that could be bought together so a link to the other advert and one photo in each ad of them together, then focus on the particular unit. The fact that this needs to be a daily driver and it also is replacing an almost new vehicle, you have to be convinced it is right for you. That's my take.
Yes - i really love the '61 Chevy styling, but I'm not too keen on this one, for those reasons stated. And yes, $6k is more in my budget.....
Think I would prefer the camper in the background if it was me ....lol....iv'e become acustomed to comfy as i have grown.....lol
go get it....quit talkin............... you ray of sunshine you... ....told ya Saf would have you looking at trailers... go without her then.....
IF ! If they would take $8000 for wagon and RV and IF they were in decent mechanical shape I'd be tempted. Red is MY color and the little RV would do since we've camped in everything from large 5th wheels, Class A motorhomes, down to a low topped Van and even tents. No more tents but the RV looks water and bug proof. If we had a way up to New York and IF I was a gambler, we'd drive it back to central Illinois to continue our vacation. But if I'd get off my butt I'd have one of my other projects finished and be pulling a larger RV.
