'82 Granada Wagon in Dayton, OH

Found this, looks like a nice car.

Looks a lot like Steve's old wagon. His went to Texas I think, though (?).

Why do I smell used car lot though? Always worry what's under the new paint on a car lot car at a good price. Now I don't want to get anyone mad so I won't mention the word R *^T !
Still, sure looks nice with decent bumpers and all.

 

This is exactly why I can't look at sale ads anymore... Or at least for a while. Seeing one like this and I get teary eyed and start trying to think of ways of obtaining it when I know that just can't at the time... I'm not even going to tell Zoe about this one because she will be like "Why are you telling me about this when we can't even get it!" She hates window shopping and I like it; can't seem to stop... Its just not fair... Why did I have to look?!

That 2 tone looked really good. too, for this model, IMHO.

 

That's what I have always said here. I just can't get excited when an ad says..."New Paint!". I always wonder what's under that new paint? Why would you spend the money to paint a car you want to sell? To me, an honest car sitting there with its natural patina is MUCH more inviting to me. I don't look at ads for cars with new paint. I will look at the car if it's close by so I can determine if it's a Bondo job or whatever. But, from a distance, new paint is a no-no for me.

 

I dunno about that 'new paint' thing, Mike. On this particular one, it's hard to tell because the pics arn't that sharp. It could be a cheap 'production' paint job, or it could be a better one. I could see someone planning to keep a car so they put a new paint job on it, then a couple of months later something in their life changes causing them to sell the vehicle - could happen.

I'd certainly ask enough questions to ferret out why the wagon got new paint, then go from there.

 

Could have been painted for a hundred reasons. If there's no chance that I can view the painted car personally...I skip the ad. I want to see how a car looks as it has aged. Nothing covered up. It's the way I do it and it's probably not the way many others do it, but, it has worked for me.
