I think they'd have a hard time getting that kind of money out of it if it was owned by Elvis.

1971 OLDSMOBILE VISTA CRUISER WITH OPERA WINDOWS ON TOP. 455 ENGINE ALL REBUILT. ONLY 13,718 ORIGINAL MILES. MY AUNT INHERITED THIS CAR FROM MR. AND MRS. LOUIS PALANGE. MR. PALANGE WAS A WELL KNOWN CONDUCTOR IN THE LOS ANGELES AREA AND MRS. PALANGE ONLY DROVE THE CAR FOR SHORT DISTANCES OR TO CONCERTS. MY AUNT HAD THE ENGINE REBUILT AS THE CAR HAD BEEN LEFT STAGNATE AND STORED FOR TEN YEARS IN A GARAGE. THEREFORE, MY AUNT HAD EVERYTHING UNDER THE HOOD REDONE. NEW HEADLINER. THE CAR HAS 1ST PRIMER COAT AND DRIVES PERFECTLY. THE CAR HAS 1984 OLYMPIC PLATES. A CLASSIC COLLECTOR'S ITEM! FOR A VERY SERIOUS BUYER, MY AUNT IS MORE THAN WILLING TO DRIVE THE CAR TO HER MECHANIC NEAR DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES - DODGER STADIUM AREA AND THE CAR COULD BE VIEWED WITH THE MECHANIC AND HE CAN ANSWER ANY OF YOUR QUEST

I don't think we are looking at the "1ST PRIMER COAT"...it just looks like badly chalked white paint to me.

I think it's a good price...if they move the decimal point one digit to the left...;)

RED FLAG!

Now I don't give a rats arse if it had been sitting for years "STAGNATE AND STORED" for 10 years in a garage. If it was in as good of shape as he is claiming, the headliner and the engine would not need touched. Just have a real mechanic pre-lube the engine after changing all the fluids and fire it up. Sorry, I don't trust what he has to say about it.

Whats with the Blue grille filler piece and the twisted up bumper? He never mentions that in the ad! Nice stained up carpet and grimy horn pad on the steering wheel.

Anyone can swap out a low mileage speedo. I call 13,718 miles a steaming pile of :bs:
Maybe 113,718 miles, but not what he is claiming, no way in hell!

I think the seller stopped by one of those "cool California clinics" before posting.

It would be a nice car to have, but for the money being ask it should be a total frame of restoration on a 13 thousand mile car. I want to look at it before I pin a number on it.....

There was a drop dead gorgeous resto VC on here about 3 years ago. A beautiful car. Granted, it was 3 years ago, but, he couldn't get $18K for it.

$40,000 for it... :biglaugh:

I don't think so. I think somebody heard the term 'get rich quick' and took it to heart thinking that they actually had a way to do it.

That could explain the price, your paying for the controban in the wagon, not the wagon itself!
