I notice that he hasn't been back. Good. I wouldn't come back, either, if I were him.

Jaunty's wagon is one of my favorites for sure.
Still, 71suburban IS entitled to his opinion and his particular taste. We can say that he lacks taste or, whatever, he is still entitled to his opinion. Not everyone likes what we may like. Further, he DID come back and apologize for his comments. Bashing him for his original comments and not considering his apology is not consistent with the usual flavor of our wagon family members. Certainly, no one, except Stef, has the right to tell anyone not to ever come back here. I'm hoping that this will not turn into a locked thread. I'm hoping that we can all chill a little and return to what makes our forum notorious....members that are friendly, helpful, fun and sharing a common love of wagons.

    Yes, he is.

But he is not required to express it, and he is particularly not entitled to express it if it is insulting. There is a time and a place for everything. This is NOT the place for his kind of conversation.

I considered his apology. After consideration, I rejected it.

His apology was a silly attempt to make a distinction where none existed. He basically said, "My insult was directed at your car, not you personally." Wow. That's so much better.

ABSOLUTLEY!!! If everyone liked these cars as much as i do, it would cost its own weight in gold...

I actually dream about having all three of the great at one time.. An Buick, a Olds, and a Pontiac estate from the years -71 through -74

It's opinions like this that is totally turning America into a bunch of oversensative babies. The guy is entitled to his opinion and should feel free to express that where ever and when ever he feels. I don't believe he owes ANYONE an apology of any sort. If he doesn't like it then fine, that's his thought about that vehicle.

I'm tired of Americans having to apologize because of some off-color remarks they make about any given situation that may have rubbed some oversensitive crybaby the wrong way. Quick being such a bunch of pussies and move on to the next thread/ subject. Grow up people. You make me sick!!! Now am I gonna be kicked off this site because I spoke my mind and I may have offended someone? It's not my problem you were insulted- it's yours. You are the ones who need to find a way to deal with it. Not me by apologizing about the way I feel about something. Give me a break!!!!!!!!!!

This is not a domestic US problem.. We in sweden just had a bunch of "rightwing-racist-kindof" parti elected into the government last election.. The massmedia, government establishment, and all the wrongseekers of whole northern europe got all messed up about this.. There have been lockouts, protest marches and polititians have resigned from there post just because these people thinks differently..

Just remember; The fact that people think in the opposite direction than you dont make them bad people... Just different. And me for one, like that i can enjoy the middle east, african and asian immigrants in sweden as well as the BEAUTIFUL -70ies oldsmobiles, fairly priced because of people that think its ugly..

Naw... Enjoy our differents on this board instead of getting angry..

Two (maybe three) cents from europe.. OR, tio (kanske tjugo) ÖRE as we say here :tiphat:

You negate your entire argument, by saying one person has the right to express his opinion, but if someone doesn't like it, he doesn't have the right to express that displeasure, he's just supposed to get over it.

You seem to think unpopular opinions have the right to be expressed, but must go unchallenged...they have to be silently endured...for fear of "making you sick"? Of offending you? Give ME a break!

Jaunty feels strongly about something, and he doesn't have to apologize to you or anyone else for that. Even if he is a little over the top in expressing it.

    David :)
