To bad this wasn't around a month ago when I was wagon hunting.

    http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/1980-Ford-Fairmont_14963324

This vintage wagon needs to find a new home and leave my driveway.
Breaks are new, so is the water pump and starter. It's a 2.4 l, 4 cylinder engine with 4 speed manual transmission and rear wheel drive.
I drove this vehicle everyday to work and just bought a truck.
So the wagon needs to go.
First reasonable offer takes the car

Yeah, the deals are still out there but are slowly getting harder and harder to find.

I phoned one of the young kids at work about this one. He has 2 more weeks of 3rd year sheet metal and no car anymore....he's young poor and will need a car once he's bach in the work force. I hope it turns out for him.

Hey....you NEED to act fast. If that car gets around the roads at all it's sure worth "any reasonable offer"!!

I know, I told him to get up, shower up and phone the sellr at 9 AM (respecable Sunday phoning time)

My Mom won't let me have it
    [IMG]

But my honey did make some vaid points. The clutch may prove to be a problem in the long run, and having owned Fox wagons before I would have to find bucket seats because the bench won't work for me....then she knows I would want to..........................

PS> I also told the kid if he needs I'll bring him to the car. He's one of my pre-apprenticeship kids, I've worked with him since he was 15 and sold him my old Fox maquis after it was stolen and smashed.....he later totally smashed it on ice. He's 20/21 now and a bit more mature, I think it could last some time with him

    :biglaugh:  Yeah....me too!

I would need the split seats as well...don't like front bench seats. :disagree:
But...if it's not rusty it would be worth the work. :yup:

Well......the seller really REALLY wants the car gone! As we were walking away he said he would take $200, we left with out the wagon.

It had no water in it perioud and took almost 8 liters. Hardly any brakes c/w brake lite on, alternator lite on, just enouoph oil on the dipstick to tell there was oil in it, and the clutch is basicly gone. The car also would not run without your foot on the pedal and did not run good at all.

Plain fact, the car is not drivable IMO before alot of work and $ is put into it, it neds to be towed BUT it is a stupid rust free body and undernieth! All the glas is good, only dent worthy of mention was on the tail gate rite beside the broken tail lite. Interiour is a bucket seat car but seams were starting to slpit, dash pad was shot, and headliner was sagging.

On a good note though, I met Nick's Mom....A real nice lady who didn't know I was coming and Nick was in bed when I got there! Mom walked out ASAP and just pounded on a window where hung the F*** over Nick was sleeping it off.....I like his Mom!:tiphat::rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:. Poor Nick was hurting and then gets in the car and both dogs are licking him like crazy. On the way back he was sinking into the seat looking greener and greener, not able to say a work. I think he went and [IMG] when he got home.:rofl2:...Ah to be young again:bouncy:

I really want to find this kid a car and before school is over. He dove me nuts at work but the kid has work ethic and scruples!! Dad is long gone from the house and he will do anything when it comes to work, to get hours, to help Mom pay the house mourgage. The kid is :1st: in my books!!

How far is it from the Island to Indiana? How hard is it to get it across the US border? I'd pay someone to meet me part way if they could tow it.

Dude...., it's solid steel I will admit, but thats about it and thats all it is. It needs everything, it's not road safe....it would cost you a heavy $ to get it to your home and you would be cursing:rant2:..... Lets put it this way.... for $200 I know my honey wouldn't give a crap...... Yet I walked away from it!

EDIT>> I'd like to save them all, but this one....unless you had all the "Storman Norman/Handy Andy" stuff all in hand it's just not worth it. AND shipping/transporting etc!.
I do have to admit I am still on the fence with this one but for what it is $200 is way too much consiering it would still cost "just me" apx $100 to tow a car that is not drivable....It's not close to being road safe/legal!
