I found this link and as far as I know it's not true. But what if this is really happening? I have heard talk on different talk shows that our borders with Mexico and Canada should be open which I have no problem with. I have heard of reason why we should and should not. But I was raised that if a person wants to work they should be able no matter where they are from.

I'm not going to read the article because I'm sick of the whole issue. However, in Europe the borders are open. Back in the 90's I moved across the Swiss boarder to Lichtenstien, Germany, France and Austria and no one check ID. They were more interested in the car registration.

It should be a simple thing to provide work permits at no cost for anyone wishing to work in the US. I don't believe that anyone that is currently illegal in the country is taking a single job from a US citizen. But, as long as someone is working in the US illegally then there is oportunity for the worker to be taken advantage of. I say let them come from whatever border they want so long as they have a job to go to. Give 'em a permit. When things like this are on the up and up then some rotten company or person cannot screw the worker.

It's my opinion that most illegals are here to work and take care of their family. It would be much easier to go after the criminal behavior than to go after a legitimate mom or dad trying to improve their lot in life.

The big fear is losing some parts of the country. The current Prime Minister officially declared the Province of Quebec "A Nation within Canada". When our famous Pierre Trudeau nationalized the Oil and Gas industry in the 1970's, BC and Alberta threatened to join the USA. So when the current guy did his "Quebec as a Nation" sermon on the Mount, the West rattled its separation sword again.

Partisan politics just sucks here. If the PM comes from the East, he owes favours to the Quebec cronies. If He comes from Central English Canada, he's sold his soul to the big banks, and this guy comes from a Religious-Right Reform Party, that changed its skin to the New Conservatives, And he's from the West.

Split off French Quebec, start a hornet's nest in the West, and the rest have very little of an economic engine. Nasty politics.

Throw in a North American Union, and you can see the country in anguish for 2 generations. So glad I'm in one of the Provinces who depends on grain and energy exports.

My Fiance' in the Phillipines is un-employable, simply because of her age. In the Phillipines, if a person is not employed by the time they are 25, they can NEVER be employed doing anything, no matter what it is. This is a national law out there, and the government will prosecute people for even filling out a job aplication, or attempting to get a job in any way.
