im letting you know what ive been up to..
but after reading about silverfox....im too bummed to go into great detail tonite.

i sold my cj5a because i got in over my head.
so my best friend and my wife reminded me that i have been pineing over my old 88 jeep comanche (for those of you who dont know...a comanche is a pickup truck version of the jeep cherokee. it was made from 1986-1992. ) that rotted to pieces.

so ...i looked for as clean of one as i could I wanted a 6 cyl 4x4 long bed.
and it came down to just finding one that was clean.

i ended up getting an 87 4cyl long bed 5 speed 2wd. but its a 1 owner truck that only accumulated 111k miles in 27 years. for $2000 its inspected and only needed 2 shocks and 2 tires.

i took the cap (topper/camper/whatever) off for the summer

once my focus and jenns mercury are paid off i am gonna get another wagon....maybe something from the 50's or a powertrain swap in a clamshell.

    Good choice, Ian!
I've been eying those boxy Jeeps for a long time...love their tough, purposeful looks!

Looks great, sounds like a good deal. If we have learned anything from Silver's passing it should be to not put things off for tomorrow. If the deal is good and your able to follow your hearts desire. :)

I have always liked the looks of those! Congrats on your Commanche (y)

I did a little junkyarding with my dad and worked on my old P/U with him and told him about Fox since I often talk about the things and people here and Just got finished telling my wife that this weekend was a bummer with the news from here...Fox had a big impact here on us.

    for $3700

and i passed at the urging of my friends
it needed rockers and 2 other small welts fixed and the a/c was non func. but the wood was in awesome shape and it ran like a top and went down the road smooth and straight. i later found out that the real reason they urged me to pass on it ....they thought it was ugly....:banghead3: i gotta quit taking advice from hot rodders. with the rockers fixed properly this is a $12,000 truck.

Yeah - I'd kick myself too for passing on the G. Wagoneer.

The Comanche's a great vehicle though. My B-I-L had one, along with 3 'regular' Cherokees over the ages, all with the straight 6 in them. Each one went over 150k. He's the one who just picked up a new '14 Grand Cherokee.

That 4-cyl Comanche should be amazingly economical for a P/U I would imagine.....

WHY would you NOT clean the garbage off the floor. That is an instant TURN OFF. I hate that, if you don't even respect it enough to throw the garbage off the floor for pictures..........who knows how you have taken care of it
