Bummer, but at least your not hurt and Deleney wasn't in the truck. My sister inlaw had a almost identical hit and the truck box twisted like yours in 200? Mazda truck. It was a clean mint truck and insurance wrote it off due to frame damage.

I'm no body man, but, that hit doesn't look hard enough to have bent the frame. It may have just torqued the box on the rail mounts or even slid it a little. Or, the sheet metal bent giving it that cocked appearance. Doesn't look that bad to me, but, again, I'm no body man. Looks like the worse case scenario, to my eye, would be a new or used box and paint it up. Although, it looks fixable to me but may be more expensive now days than the insurance mob will want to fork over. KK and others would know better than I.

Nowadays, 'car' sheet metal is pretty thin, but this older truck stuff can still stand up to some pounding and shrinking.

I agree with what Silverfox said. Your frame I'm sure is OK - just the bed mounts got shifted and/or tweaked.

And the bright side is a good body shop might repair the rust at no extra charge. What does the other side look like?

For some reason the photos showed up better on my computer this time. Never mind about getting some new pics.

With the new dents and the rust around the wheel opening, the bedside panel is toast. Doesn't make economic sense to repair it.

A used bedside panel might cost $150-200. Maybe 15 hrs labor + paint for 4.0 hrs, @ $45/hr, about $100 for materials, you're at about $1,150 for the repairs. I'm guessing on your local area labor rate. It could be less.....or more.

Note: The bingo-guy's insurance is probably only going to pay you for damages based on repair of the bedside. It looks to me that the panel might have been repairable but for the rust.

The insurance adjuster is going to hit you for "betterment" since the body has a lot of rust. With damage on a badly rusted panel, they just won't pay very much. Not what you want to hear, but those are the facts of insurance today. They are only responsible to putting it back into the condition prior to the accident, and nothing more. My guess is that they will offer you $300 - 500. If you don't accept that, then they will just walk and wait to see what you will do.

yeah see thats a problem. the truck seems like its tracking funny when you drive it down the road. she did hit my rear wheel. $500 seems a little light.
considering that "yeah the truck had rust"..but i had a fixable 1/4 panel and now...it is toast. honestly i wouldn't mind having a wooden flat bed.

Big bummer Ian! Those blue haired BINGO babes will get'ch when you least expect it.

May have shoved the axle over on the springs a little, and possibly bent the rim? That and/or what Krash says. (see note below)

In these parts they'd say, "Hey, looks like a pick up now... " ;). I have a '79 F-250 super cab with an 8ft bed. It looked rust free when I
bought it 9 years ago but it has since succumb a little in those same 'trade mark' areas on Fords as your shows.
Gang, let me tell ya, you have not truly lived until you have backed on out of the driveway, hit an object, assuming it was the curb
across the street, and wondered why she won't skip said curb; only to realize you'd forgotten that you'd parked your Honda Accord
    back there.....
The upside, my first go at body repair. The truck's bumper was bent and caught the rear quarter. The black sedan has a light gold
    door and fender...

Entirely possible that there's something wrong with the location of the axle / axle housing, etc. The other car hit you right there. Take a look at your leaf spring attachments- particularly on the right rear. Compare to the left rear. If the axle housing is shoved over, it should be evident there. Also, check the axle tube where the U-bolts are.

Probably be a good idea at this point to take it a to a body shop, have them check out the 'tracking' issue and do an estimate. Don't mess with running all over town getting different quotes. ONE is sufficient.

The insurance company is probably going to 'total' it.
