Some of you know pat from wagon fest or longroof forum (buick estate).
He spent summer and most of fall swapping a 350 into his 1991 roadmaster and fixing it up.
Well last night he was on his way home from his GF's house in windsor On. When he was Tboned by a bell canada utility truck.
His roadmaster did 2 airborn barrel rolls and a summersault finally landing in a ditch full of water upside down.
Pat is mostly ok. He is still in the hospital with bruises and glass splinters. But is otherwise fine...sore as hell, but fine.
Bell canada is at fault. Dr's said had he been in a smaller car he would be dead. What a car.

how the hell fast was that truck moving to make a 2+ ton car do acrobatics ?

Our lives are saved by our stationwagon (1986 mercury cp) as well. I wish them to get well soon.

Sad to hear about the loss of the wagon. Another reason why I won't put my family in an econo/cracker box.
Glad to hear he is mostly ok. Praying for a quick recovery.
God Bless Full size American haulers.

All my best out to Pat. He's not too far from my neck of the woods. I've spent a lot of time watching his cool videos on YouTube.

I wish him a safe and speedy recovery. I am a crash survivor of a '81 Volvo 240 wagon. So I know the feeling all to well.

Considering he got T-boned by a large truck (probably at least a one-ton or larger... and probably travelling at least 30mph) it's amazing there's not a whole lot of intrusion into the passenger area. The side structure held up real well......

    Also....
This is where a good, solid rust-free vehicle can be your saving grace. Any substantial rust severely affects structural integrity. If this wagon has rust in the rockers, the bottom would have opened up like a rusty tin can.....
