Police/Fire station wagons..we do not have a catagory for them in the gallerys. We have several scattered though out but no real home for a magor part of the station wagon history, Police + K-9 Units, Fire Chiefs/Dept.
There are many vintage photos out there but it would be nice if the had a "general" place to be put rather than being scattered with all the car brands. Maybe with Ambulance/Hearses or a gallery of there own.
    :feedback:..:)

Ok, Fat.....Any wagon that was a service vehicle of any type including panel wagons. My suggestion for the classification header is....
    "Working Wagons".

Good idea, add the them to the hearses and ambulance category. I will rename that category. "Working Wagons" is good, but how about "Service Wagons" ?

    You guys pick ;)

I like the alliteration and the reference to "tough" wagons with the term "Working Wagons". Service Station Wagons is fine. Not protective of my suggestion and leave it to the members.

I like "Service Wagons". :) In many cases, wagons owned by private families "worked" most of their lives, lol.

Thanx Stefan:D(y) I'll get some together in my down time.

The name, they are "working" but they are providing a "service". I think I favor "Service Wagons" for the reason "working Wagons" would include any wagon with a company name on it.

I think "Service Wagons" is the most suitable name for the category, and Ambulance/Hearses belong, too.

Yeah...that was Fat's original idea. I think Service Wagons should include ALL service wagons since this is a category for such. Wagons like MikeyStripes has, grocery delivery wagons, police wagons, ambulances, service station wagons....ALL service wagons. That's what the category is for is the way I see it. Right? Or do you guys have different categories in mind?

I don't think it's really a problem but Ambulance,Hearses, PD cars, FD cars, Rail Road (on tracks) wagons, Forestry, etc are history of the station wagon and a (just my thoughts) of a custom decked out pimped wagon with a company name like " 2 for 1 Mobile Procktology and Pizza"...OK, Bad choice:slap: but you get the idea:) takes away from wagons that were origonally made for a paticular service. A customized hearse is still a hearse because you know what it started life as.

I don't think you posted the last time I replyed Fox:wave:, They way I look at Service Wagon, Work wagon is one that was made from new for work and then worked and not all done up, a wagon that if the paint got scratched etc, who cares because it is ment for work. I don't really think (IMO) that work wagons of today all shinny mint etc fall under this catagory unless it's all Bling Blinged out and there s a picture of it dirty, pullling a trailer load of stuff down a gravel road, or covered in salt slush because of winter use....You see where I'm going with this Fox?:)
