Thanks. I remember one year we drove our 55 Chevy 2-door sedan from Illinois up around Lake Michigan from the Michigan side around and stopped at the Studebaker museum. No one there except the curator. He was so interested in our Chevy we had to go out with him to look at it after slobbering all over those Studebakers and other things. I'm thinking the museum used to be a Studebaker plant or dealership!
It was the Freeman-Spicer building I believe. It was indeed an old 'dealership' of sorts. They are no longer there. The SNM got a fancy new building within the last 6-8 years. (but don't get me started on that- it's a looong story about missed opportunities...) Check them out at~ http://www.studebakermuseum.org/
StudeDave '57 thanks. I just took a tour of the museum and it's history. It was in the mid- 80's when we went to the dealership museum.
