Just saw this over on the For A bodies Only Forum. Heres a link to the notice and a photo. The 66 Dart wagon is cream color with a brown roof and silver rocker panels. Those of you out west, please be on the look out for it. It would be great if the owner could be reunited with his wagon.
Was stolen earlier today in Banning, California.

Somebody was there before and knew what they were looking for,IMHO.
Such an oddball car,it will be tough to find it in one piece since it does stick out like a sore thumb..
    Really sucks,it really does.

The same kind of low life that would steal anyone's car. This was a better country when horse thieves were hanged. Since the automobile is the modern replacement for the horse, I wish we had MUCH harsher penalties for car thieves than we do.

    Cheers,
    Ken

I just saw the following update on the stolen wagon over on the For A Bodies Only Mopar site. Sounds like sad news but the owner says the car is insured. I hate hearing stories like this.

    Heres the owners post:
"Well Everbody that went to the trouble posting for A big Thank You All
I got a phone call at 1:00am Sunday morning from the Riverside Police and said that they found the car. So Today I got a enough nerve to go to the towing company to get some stuff out of the car and got sick to my guts the car was a TOTAL LOSS must have hit a block wall on the right frt at about 70mph and bounce off that and spun around and hit the left rear quarter. I am just sick. But who ever was riding in the passern side there head broke the windshield out and driver must not be in to good of shape either. They won't let me take pictures of the car because of police impound..."

This is a very sad story.:( What a damn shame.
And....what's up with the cops? No PIX? Screw them....I would sneak some phone pix. I'll bet an insurance man could get pix. I know they want you to bail the car out but....they should let this poor guy take all the pix he wants.

No pics? AFAIK, all the cops want to insure is that you don't TOUCH the car (fingerprints and all....). I've inspected many an impounded vehicle that way. Too bad about the damage.......

Krash is the hands down expert with out question IMO when it comes to insurance etc., but a question....

Laws differ every where..... Could the BS no pics be because it's been involved in a accident and by the sounds of it thieves got hurt (Boo @$%&^ Hooo)? I just ask because a 1/2 mile from my home there is a ICBC (Insurance Corp BC) and the inpound yard is huge. Any car/truck in that yard that is under police investigation is tarped/wraped up, you can't even look at it if it's your own car but insurance and police can till it's cleared.

Thanks for the update Jim but it make me wanna barf. Joy riders:slap: Too bad the clowns weren't still in the Dart suffering terminally massive fluid loss when the cops found it! The words FINGER PRINT come to mind with this one. Odds are these dudes aren't clean 'cuz if their doing these kinda deeds their probably doin' other nasty stuff too?

    Depends on the individual circumstances.
I looked at a Jeep Compass a couple of months back. The owner and insurance were in California. The vehicle was being stored at a local Oregon State Police office (not at a tow yard) because they were holding it as evidence in a robbery. The defendant was the husband of the vehicle owner.
